Absolute Impediment

Worth a try, I guess. And how English is the dignity with which Fr. Williamson attempted to bring the Bible to bear against the pseudo-consecration of Mrs. Lane as the first woman bishop on that sceptered isle! And how truly modern the presiding bishop's reply that the "law of the land" trumps the Scriptures!

Read the Rev. Williamson's statement regarding his attempt to object here.

  1. They haven"t since they first ditched Moses for Darwin. Funny, though, how those who first said "we have no king but Caesar" so quickly rebelled against him; something about an house divided against itself....

  2. What mercy God showed by sending one last warning to these apostates before the deed was committed! Williamson joins the ranks of prophets in the tradition of Micaiah son of Imlah, who dared speak the truth even against four hundred false prophets.

Recall: And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah [to appear before Ahab and Jehoshaphat] said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.” But Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, what my God says, that I will speak.” (2 Chronicles 18:12-13 ESV)

Williamson's objection is Divine drama, acted out in our time, before our very eyes.
